Happy New Year

Just want to wish everyone who finds this a happy new year and nothing but good things to happen in it!
I have a few goals for 2023:
- Work on this website, there is a lot of things and ideas left to do but I lack the motivation.
- More home automation into my house and document it.
- More self hosting stuff and cut back on cloud providers. I would love to be able to convince myself everytime I sign up for a new service...
- Do I really need this service?
- Does a self hosted alternative exist?
- Can I risk my provided data to the service being sold/hacked?
- Can the service even be trusted? Are they mature or new?
- Try to update this blog more often with everything I accomplish or strange problems I encounter or solve. Even if it is just once a month.
- Try to learn a new language! Rust? Go? Python?
- Learn to write better in different departments (especially comments and documentation)
Just today, I finally re-setup my Unifi gear to handle intervlan communication for certain devices (damn Sonos) and setup a separate VLAN for VPN access.
Feels good to finally get that checked off my to-do list.
